COVID-19 Check-in

Dear Coquitlam Chorale Members,

During this time of uncertainty with the COVID-19 situation evolving daily, I wanted to check in on everyone to see how you are all doing. I know that the unknowns regarding COVID-19 may create stress and anxiety for some people. If you or anyone you know is in need of additional support, I just wanted to share two links that provide good strategies around wellness that you may find helpful. Also, if any of you have some kind of employee assistance program offered through your workplace, remember that that is an available resource as well.

Additionally, I know that there are several members of the Chorale who are struggling to cope with the cancellation of rehearsals and the Spring concerts. Please remember that just because we are no longer meeting in person at the present time, does not mean that we have to cease engaging and connecting with each other within the Chorale community. I encourage you to stay connected with one another through mediums such as the Forums in the Chorale WIX App and website, Facebook, e-mail, and phone calls. In times like these, we must all adapt and find ways to be resilient.

A reminder to those of you who have purchased pub night tickets from either Alita Reid (alita.reid@gmail.com) or Frances Spalding (frances_spalding@telus.net) to connect with them to receive your refunds if you have not done so yet.

I also want to assure you that your Board of Directors are still working hard on Chorale business and we continue to have conversations virtually via e-mail. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Board for their teamwork, dedication, and continuous efforts to support Chorale through this trying time. I feel very honoured to be able to work with each and everyone one of you. Your efforts and contributions have not gone unnoticed.

This is a challenging time that calls upon each of us to act in the best interests of all Canadians, and citizens around the world. Continue to take good care of yourselves and one another. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for support as well as to those in your communities who may be more vulnerable.

And finally, I don’t want to see any of you on the news because you are selling toilet paper out of the back of your trucks at Costco! I think it goes without saying that I would be very disappointed…. :)

Sincerely,

Ada Nadison
